Mayor
Rory Ramirez

Mayor Pro Tem Rory Ramirez

Mayor Ramirez was elected to the City Council in November 2004. He previously served on the Yuba City Planning Commission for 8-½ years.

Mr. Ramirez graduated from local schools and attended two years of junior college. He has been self- employed since 1973 and works in construction and development. In addition, he is the owner of a fast food restaurant.

Mayor Ramirez feels levees, traffic, better paying jobs, and the overall economic condition of the City of Yuba City are priorities.

Mr. Ramirez has been married to Carol for 34 years and they have four children: Jeremy, Nathan, Gabriel and Kalob.

Leslie McBride

Councilmember Leslie McBride

Mayor Pro Tem McBride has served on the Yuba City Council since November 2006. She is the City’s representative to SACOG (Sacramento Area Council of Governments) serving as a Board of Director and as a member of SACOG’s Flood Management Committee. She also serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Consolidated Area Housing Authority of Sutter County.

She is a businesswoman and realtor and consults as the Governmental Affairs Director of the Sutter Yuba Association of Realtors. She is Vice Chair of the local Governmental Relations Committee for the California Association of Realtors and also is a member of their Legislative Committee.

Mayor Pro Tem McBride’s focus for Yuba City includes levee, road, traffic and infrastructure improvements as well as striving for continued improvement of the quality of life that is currently enjoyed by the citizens of Yuba City.

 

Councilmember
John Miller

Mayor John Miller

Councilmember Miller has been a Councilmember since 2004. Prior to his election to the Yuba City City Council, Councilmember Miller was a Director for Levee District No. 1 for 10 years.

Councilmember Miller has a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada at Reno, and he is President of Valley Truck and Tractor Co.

Councilmember Miller feels the following issues are of utmost importance to him: the completion of the Plumas Street Streetscape, a new fire station, the remodel of the police station, review of city impact fees, completion of Gauche Aquatics Park, proper planning and infrastructure for the city, and appropriate staffing of police and fire departments.

Councilmember Miller is married to Susan and they have four children: Matt, Katharine, Stephanie and Julie; and four grandchildren.

Kash Gill

Councilmember Kash Gill

Councilmember Gill was elected to the City Council November 2006. Programs that are important to Councilmember Gill all lead to Public Safety: flood protection, easing traffic congestion, and reduction in crime.

He graduated from the Graduate Schools of Banking (Boulder, Colorado) in July 2006, California State University at Chico (Agricultural Business-1987), Yuba Community College, Yuba City High School and Barry School.

Councilmember Gill is Administrative Vice-President/Regional Manager at Butte Community Bank and farms peaches, prunes and walnuts in Sutter County. He has been married for 20 years to Neena Gill. They have three children: Harveen, Rajan, and Preya.

Tej Maan

Councilmember Tej Maan

Councilmember Maan was elected to the City Council in November 2006. The two most important issues to him right now are providing flood protection and dealing with traffic.

Councilmember Maan attended Yuba City High School and graduated from the University of California at Davis. He has been employed with Yuba County since 1986 and is the Director of Environmental Health. He is the past chair of the California Conference of Directors of Environmental Health, Region I.

Councilmember Maan is married to Mannu and they have three children: Jason, Arjun, and Umber.
