Downtown Plumas Street Renovation

Downtown Plumas Street Improvements

In Phase I, new street lights are illuminating warm Spring evenings as visitors enjoy the downtown shops and restaurants. The decorative bowls have been placed and are being prepared for planting and finish concrete has been poured where the old street lights were removed.

We have completed the underground work in Phase II ~ new water, storm, gas and electric. The road has been lowered and new irrigation and electrical is being installed. We are also pouring the foundations for the precast wall sections and light pole bases and will begin pouring curb and gutter in early May. PG&E is working closely with us to make adjustments to their equipment in preparation for new sidewalks and road construction.

Our thanks to all who attended the construction progress meeting in early April. Yuba City Mayor Ramirez and Councilman Miller shared that we would like to continue working into Phase III, particularly because it is advantageous for us to have PG&E continue on our project while they are available. We have received wonderful support from the merchants and are currently moving forward with road removal and gas, electric and water line installation.

The city has secured additional public parking at 800 Plumas (accessible from Walnut) in additional to the lot at 701 Plumas (accessible from Rockholt).

Access to the Post Office will be maintained from Church Street and a drop box is available at Reeves near the water tower for your convenience.

Our intent is to keep our momentum going, utilize all available resources and take advantage of the excellent weather to complete the project in the Fall of ’08!!
