Welcome to the Yuba City Floodplain Management Webpage. The City of Yuba City is working on ways to improve and increase its circulation of and accessibility to information that pertains to the floodplain, in an effort to better educate and assist its citizens about developing and living in the floodplain.

Mission:

The primary objective of Yuba City Floodplain Management is to administer the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s policies to protect public health and safety, reduce damage to buildings and contents, prevent increases in flood damage from new construction, reduce the risk of erosion damage, and protect natural and beneficial floodplain functions.

Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan 2011 Progress Report
As a requirement of the Community Rating System, the City is responsible for providing an annual update of the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, which was originally published in 2007. The file below is a review of the background and progress on the City of Yuba City’s Action Items described in the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. Flood Awareness Letter
Did you receive our annual flood awareness letter in your utility bill? Each year the City sends out an informational letter regarding our local floodplain, and it is available for download below.

Monitor Local Water Levels
Interested in tracking our local water levels? The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) monitors local water levels, including the Feather River for data analysis and to gauge local flood risk.

Flood Insurance Rate Maps are available online! These maps have been added to the City website for your convenience to easily view where your property is located on the map. If you have any questions regarding which zone you may be in, please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Public Works at 822-4626.
