The City of Yuba City is seeking banner applications from family and friends of local Active military, or veterans who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces, offering an opportunity to recognize Yuba City, Sutter County, Marysville, and Yuba County’s Hometown Heroes.

Hero banner honorees must have lived in Yuba and Sutter County at some point, served in one of the following branches: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, Reserves, or Coast Guard. They must also meet one of the following criteria: currently serving, honorably discharged, retired, or died in the line of duty.

The program, will install banners on decorative light poles spanning along the Bridge St. Corridor. Each banner will be sponsored by local citizens or businesses.  Help us honor men and women from Yuba-Sutter County who serve or have served in the military.

To sponsor a banner, please click the online application form or the printable version of the application form to the right of this page.  If you would like the sponsor name printed on the banner, please check the box on the banner application.

Banners are $250.00, and will be double sided 36"x96" Sunbrella UV rated heavy duty banner. 
Image requirements: Image pixel dimensions of at least 1000 or larger in either height or width preferred. 300 DPI is preferred. Images less than 2MB in file size, are not recommended for quality prints.  We can scan a photograph for an additional $10.00 charge.

Example of banner sponsor:

1. Relatives/Friends of Active military or Veteran who would like to purchase a banner or banners to honor their Hometown Hero.  With or without sponsor name on the banner.
2. Businesses/Organizations that would like to purchase a banner on behalf of Relatives/Friends of Active Military or Veteran.  With or without sponsor name on the banner.
3. Individuals/Businesses/Organizations that would like to purchase a banner (slot) for those in need of a banner sponsor.  With sponsor name on a banner.

Hometown Hero Banner Display Periods:  (April installation December removal)

The current program is on hold at this time.

The City will take applications and photographs anytime during the year and communicate when the City will display your banner and any other program details.  The City can not reserve a specific banner location.
