Seniors-Helping-Seniors Handyman Program

The City of Yuba City currently offers a Seniors-Helping-Seniors Handyman Program. The primary purpose of this program is to assist senior citizen homeowners who do not have the financial resources to complete minor home repairs. A grant of up to $300 is used to pay for the repairs.

Eligibility:

The Senior Handyman Program is available to senior citizen homeowners (62+ years of age) who live within the city limits of Yuba City and qualify as a low-income household. A hold harmless waiver must also be signed by the homeowner before work can be completed.

Eligible Repairs:

Minor home repairs include, but are not limited to repairing leaking, broken or non-operating sinks, toilets, faucets, garbage disposals, water heaters; repairing small electrical hazards; repairing cracked sidewalks; replacing cracked or broken windows; installing weather stripping; replacing light bulbs, and other miscellaneous repairs.

Grant Terms:

This is a grant and does not need to be repaid to the City of Yuba City.

Yuba City's Seniors-Helping-Seniors Handyman Program is operated by the Yuba City Parks and Recreation Department.
