The Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Facility are available for group tours. Come see how drinking water is pumped from the Feather River to the Water Treatment Plant, the treatment process that it goes through, and then how it is delivered to your home! Come learn how water is a precious resource and why conserving water is vital to our environment.

Visit the Wastewater Treatment Facility to find out what happens to wastewater when it goes down the drain, the treatment process it goes through, and then how it is discharged back into the Feather River. At the Wastewater Treatment Facility students can also visit the laboratory to see how the water is tested. They will get an opportunity to look through a microscope to see the microorganisms that assist in the wastewater treatment process.

Tours are available for Girls / Boy Scout groups, Clubs / Organizations, and Fourth Grade and above school groups. Please contact the Utilities Department Administration office at (530) 822-4639 for more information or to schedule a tour.
