The Yuba City Police Department Communications Unit is the telephone and radio center coordinating all police, fire, rescue and medical responses within the City. It is the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point for the City of Yuba City, thereby serving as the vital link between those in need and the emergency services required. The unit proudly strives for consistent professional service while placing an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness in processing more than 80,000 incidents each year.

The Communications Unit offers emergency medical dispatching to the citizens of Yuba City. The dispatchers are trained to provide pre-arrival first-aid instructions to callers with medical emergencies. Such a service has been recognized on numerous occasions as literally the difference between life and death.
