Environmental Reviews
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) serves to provide information to the public regarding significant environmental effects of proposed discretionary projects.

When the Planning Division receives a new discretionary project application an initial study is completed to determine the level of environmental review required by the project.

A Public Hearing will be held in accordance with the Yuba City Municipal Code for each discretionary project, and per CEQA guidelines, the appropriate review document will be made available to the public for review.

Typical CEQA documents include:
  • Environmental Impact Report (EIR)
  • Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND)
  • Negative Declaration (ND)
  • Initial Study (IS)
  • Notice of Preparation (NOP)
  • Notice of Intent (NOI)
  • Notice of Exemption (NOE)
  • Notice of Determination (NOD)
