Welcome to the City Manager's Office

The City Manager's office oversees the work of all City departments and provides leadership and oversight for the administration of City services and activities, as well as ensures that City Council policies are implemented throughout the organization.

The City Council, City Manager, and the City Executive team are partners in defining and developing programs and projects important to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for Yuba City residents.

Diana Langley

    Interim City Manager Diana Langley

City Council appointed the current Public Works Director Diana Langley as the interim City Manager effective February 16, 2019.   

Diana was appointed to the position of Public Works Director in November 2013. Prior positions with Yuba City include Deputy Public Works Director – Engineering, Principal Engineer, Senior Engineer, Associate Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Engineering Aide. Other positions held during her career include Senior Engineer with the City of Grass Valley.

Diana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico, and has continued her education by obtaining a Construction Management Certificate through UC Davis Extension. In addition, Diana is a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California and a Certified Floodplain Manager.

When asked what she is most proud of, Diana stated, “I’m most proud of the organizational development measures implemented within the Department, such as the Public Works Academy, to prepare staff for promotional opportunities. Also, I’m proud of all of the projects that I’ve personally designed or acted as Project Manager. It’s so rewarding to drive around town and see my projects constructed and in place.

Professional affiliations include membership in the American Public Works Association, American Water Works Association, and Association of State Floodplain Managers.

The City Manager’s Office also provides administrative support to the Mayor and City Council, and responds to citizen and business requests for resolution of City service-related issues.
