Hydrant Flushing Program

The Public Works Department's Water Distribution Division, in partnership with the Yuba City Fire Department, is conducting a Citywide hydrant flushing program throughout the months of April, May, and June 2017.

Hydrant flushing is an important preventative maintenance activity for the water distribution system. During this program, all City hydrants will be "flushed," meaning that the hydrants are strategically opened and water is forced out at high velocity. The high-pressure water scrubs the water main and flushes the sediment and debris out of the system.

Questions about the hydrant flushing program can be directed to Water Distribution Supervisor Phillip Marler at (530) 822-4777 or by email.
